Client Administrator at Sörbyn Prison

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The Umeå area includes the closed prison Umeå, the open prison Sörbyn, and the remand facility Umeå. We are undergoing significant capacity increases and a lot is happening in the area in terms of renovations and new constructions. The largest professional group is prison officers, but we also have healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. At Sörbyn prison, inmates are engaged in labor market training, learning centers, various treatment programs, or work in kitchens, carpentry, crop cultivation, textiles, etc. Sörbyn prison is an agricultural prison with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. At Umeå prison, inmates are engaged in wood/industry, kitchens, learning centers, and treatment programs. The prison and remand facility Umeå is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and Sörbyn prison is easiest accessed by car. Staff parking is available at all units.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a client administrator at Sörbyn prison, you will prepare and present client cases and make certain client decisions according to delegation and work order, such as permission planning. You will be responsible for the overall client work, under the leadership of the prison inspector, which includes quality assurance, development, and follow-up of execution planning and contact management. The role also includes handling misconduct cases and collaborating with probation and other authorities.

You will work with investigations and decision-making according to the Prison Act and make assessments based on applicable regulations, guidelines, and practices. Furthermore, it includes, in dialogue with the prison inspector, developing and quality assuring the legal work and continuously guiding and training staff in the client process.

We are looking for candidates who have:

• University or college education with a legal, social, or behavioral science focus, or other education combined with experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Ability to express oneself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Good computer skills

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience in calculating prison time and handling sentences
• Experience and knowledge of case management within public administration
• Experience from handling client cases in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Knowledge of and experience working with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's client administrative systems
• Experience in client-facing work within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, especially as a Client Administrator
